HISTORIC SHREWSBURY
LEFT: This was the view from the Webmaster's hotel room in the historic border town of Shrewsbury, looking across the medieval street of Mardol, to the ancient King's Head pub.

RIGHT: This view of Shrewsbury's market square shows the variety of architecture that proliferates around town.

PORTHILL BRIDGE, SHREWSBURY
The Boat House Inn is seen here on the banks of the River Severn in Shrewsbury, through the suspension cables of the ornate Victorian Porthill Bridge.
CARDIFF CASTLE & BUTE PARK
LEFT: The solitary keep of Cardiff Castle stands isolated within the curtain walls of the fortress.

RIGHT: Bute Park is seen here in its Springtime glory, with Cardiff Castle visable through the Magnolia trees.
MILLENNIUM STADIUM, CARDIFF
Britain's finest sports stadium stands hemmed in between the River Taff and Cardiff city centre and was constructed to replace the smaller, but equally famous, Cardiff Arms Park.

The stadium is home to the Welsh national rugby union team, as well as hosting soccer matches and rock concerts.
MACHYNLLETH STATION
Machynlleth station is set amongst the hills surrounding the picturesque Dovey Valley and stands along the route of the Cambrian Line, which runs through central Wales before dividing at Dovey Junction.
BARMOUTH
This photograph was taken along the Cambrian Coast Line and depicts view from Barmouth Viaduct and the estuary of the Afon Mawddach.
HARLECH CASTLE
Harlech Castle dominates the small town from its position high on a rocky outcrop. Originally, the foot of the crag stood on the sea shore, though hundreds of years later the tide has receded about half a mile to the west.
PENRHYNDEUDRAETH
This view looks northeast from the railway line at Penrhyndeudraeth, towards the mountains of Snowdonia National Park.
FAIRBOURNE
Barmouth Bay and the beach at Fairbourne are seen here from the train whilst heading south along the Cambrian Coast Line.
CITY OF CHESTER
This view of Foregate Street illustrates the splendid architecture that can be found in Chester city centre - one of England's most ancient cities and which has the only complete city wall in the country.
CONWY
LEFT: Conwy Harbour is seen here on a fine spring afternoon.

RIGHT: The curtain walls of Conwy Castle are seen here from the south side.
LLANSTEFFAN
The village of Llansteffan and its castle are pictured from across the Afon Tywi at Ferryside, Carmarthenshire. This photograph was taken aboard the train as the service heads towards Swansea.
CITY OF BANGOR
The small Welsh city of Bangor has a cathedral of appropriate stature.
LUDLOW
LEFT: The Buttermarket can be found at the centre of the ancient Shropshire town of Ludlow, the historic capital of The Marches.

RIGHT: Ludlow Castle is seen here from the roof of its keep, with the rare circular Norman chapel shown on the right.
HEART OF WALES LINE
A view through the mist to the distant hills, photographed from between Llandovery and Llandielo on the Heart of Wales line.
LUDFORD BRIDGE, LUDLOW
Ludford Bridge occupies a picturesque position across the River Teme at Ludlow. The Charlton Arms stands on the opposite bank.
ST GILES' CHURCH, WREXHAM
The attractive St Giles' Church stands at the centre of the Welsh town of Wrexham.
SPRINGTIME IN SHREWSBURY
